M'era Luna Festival 2026 - Live 9/8/2026

Oh man, that „set to private“ right after the stream is seriously end-boss-level frustrating 😅 Especially with festivals you want to catch some sets again later in peace. Lacrimosa live often has this pretty massive, theatrical vibe that you don't really appreciate when watching on the side.

By the way, I thought OMD as a contrast wasn't bad at all – a bit of synthpop old-school between all that gloomy stuff. I've only ever caught the M'era Luna stream once myself, but that festival feeling with all the different scenes comes across surprisingly well. Hope they'll upload the recordings officially somewhere.

I don’t understand either why the streams disappear so quickly. Rights to individual songs/acts are probably the reason, but an official replay for at least a few days wouldn’t be a luxury. Especially with Lacrimosa you don’t want to have to quit halfway through.

By the way, OMD works for me: not necessarily Gothic in the narrow sense, but they’ve had enough influence on the whole dark/wave scene. And live, sandwiched between the heavier bands, such a stylistic break can even be quite pleasant.

OMD as a “stylistic break” fits quite well. They don't belong in every goth pigeonhole, but without all that early synth/wave stuff the scene would have developed differently. I usually found such outliers at festivals better than six bands in a row all running the same drum machine sound.

The streams are really a bummer. I used to make a habit of immediately bookmarking interesting acts or recording them when allowed — otherwise the stuff feels gone by the next morning. Maybe Lacrimosa will still turn up as an official standalone clip.

OMD do work there, precisely because M'era Luna has never consisted of just one shade of black. A little “Enola Gay” amid fog machines, leather, and drum-machine apocalypse is almost healthy for the ears 😄

As for the streams, an official 48-hour replay really would be the bare minimum. This “live or too bad” approach is already a bit unnecessary in 2026, especially for a festival with so many things happening in parallel.

Floor Jansen would have interested me too, especially since she’s supposed to be incredibly commanding live. Unfortunately, I only saw a few short excerpts of her performance—but they sounded pretty powerful. I’m still hoping for an official clip of Lacrimosa; I’d really love to watch their full set.

And I actually find OMD among all those dark/heavy acts quite fitting by now. A festival should be allowed to catch its breath sometimes, otherwise by the end you’re just acoustically wiped out 😄 Did anyone catch Floor or Lacrimosa’s full sets on the stream?

Unfortunately, I only caught snippets of Floor as well, but those few minutes were already impressive—the woman apparently doesn’t need a big show around her; her voice carries it effortlessly. A complete Lacrimosa would of course still be my personal wish for the replay.

And with OMD, I had to chuckle at “Enola Gay between fog machine and drum-machine apocalypse”—pauses like that really do festivals good. After three heavier sets, a bit of synth-pop isn’t just fitting; it’s practically first aid for the ears.

I felt the same way about Floor—the few excerpts were already enough to tell that she really delivers live. But a full Lacrimosa set would also be the most important candidate for a replay for me—especially since their atmosphere probably only works over an entire set, not in three short clips.

I hope the organizer at least puts the individual performances online officially. With so many stages running in parallel, it’s impossible to catch everything, and a 48-hour replay would really be no luxury. Did anyone catch whether Lacrimosa played mostly older material or also a lot of their newer stuff?
